March 13, 2008: LETSI Meeting and Sponsor Reception
The last LETSI Meeting was hosted in Seoul, Korea, by the LETSI Founding Sponsor, KIEC. The program consisted of a plenary discussions and Working Group meetings with a Founding Sponsors reception to include a brief signing ceremony to formalize LETSI's establishment under the IEEE-ISTO umbrella. March 14, 2008: 2008 Korea e-Learning Forum: International Conference on e-Learning and its Future
On March 14th, the KIEC co-hosted an Open Forum, consisting of an International Workshop with presentations, panel discussions, and case studies. With the expertise from the ISO/IEC JTC1 SC36, ADL, several major countries, and KIEC and KERIS as related organizations in Korea, the Open Forum sought to maximize the satisfaction of its attendees by providing them with a wide range of information on e-Learning. The information of technology, standard, trends, promotion policy, industry and its issues for digital library system, digital textbook, e-Learning, m-learning, SCORM, metadata and new interactive instructional design are some of the topics that were delved into at this year's forum. March 16-21, 2008: ISO/IEC JTC1 SC36
ISO/IEC JTC1 SC36 is the international standards body developing de jure standards to support technical interoperability for learning, education and training. The ISO/IEC JTC1 SC36 meeting was held on Jeju Island,Korea on March 16-21. ADL participates in SC36 as a liaison organization. SCORM 2004 3rd Edition is currently being fast-tracked through ISO/IEC as a technical report. ADL is participating in a SC36 study group activity to evaluate the ADL Core SCORM proposal.
